Message Configuration

Message Configuration

The Message Configuration page is accessible only from its corresponding message's page. It contains message configuration data relevant to the Service On-Ramping Form for JMS services.

The Message Configuration page contains the following information:

  • Frequency: The rate at which message is published to NEMS. Stated in terms of Low, Median and Peak rates.
  • Message Size: The total message size in bytes of the message header and payload. Stated in terms of Minimum, Median, and Maximum values to cover varying message sizes.
  • Latency: The age of the data from the time it was created by the data source in the case where this publisher is not the original source of the data. Where the publisher is the actual source (creator) of the data, then the latency would not be applicable unless the data is being stored for a period of time before being published. This will be used to develop a prediction of the end-to-end latency of the service from the origin of the data to the service access point of the subscribing consumer.
  • Compression: Specify the type of compression used on the message payload.
  • Compression Ratio: Ratio between the uncompressed size and compressed size of the message payload.
  • Mediation: The Mediation service provides message content and protocol transformation capabilities for NEMS producers and consumers. Required message content transformations are developed and deployed to reformat or change message payload content, as it transits through the ESB, per a set of configurable rules defined using XSLT and/or XQuery. The protocol mediation available with the following options: WS SOAP, WS RESTful, WS XML, SOAP over JMS, and message sampling or delay.
  • Note: Additional comments to provide clarification for on-ramping.
