End Points
The End Points section describes one or more service end points, each of which consists of a network address where the service may be accessed, together with an associated binding, which is the name of a collection of protocols used for executing the service at that address. (NOTE: the end point for a service can be created and documented by NEMS. In this case, the end point's name and network address fields can be left blank, whereas its description field should include an explanation.)
The End Points page contains the following information for each end point:
- Name (required): The name used to identify the end point.
- Description: A statement or short passage that describes the end point.
- Network Address: The URL of the end point.
- Binding: The name of the end point's associated binding, selected from a list of bindings that were created in the Bindings section.
NOTE: An end point can be created before its associated binding has been defined by selecting the value "none" from the list of bindings. After the binding has been created, it will be necessary to update that end point's information by selecting the new binding's name from the list.
