Faults

The Faults section describes each message that is generated in response to conditions that result in failure of an operation or a set of operations. A fault usually contains information about the cause of the error. NOTE: A service can have more than one fault message.

The Faults page contains the following information:

• Generated By (required): The name of the operation whose failure generates the fault. NOTE: The operation name is chosen from a drop-down list of previously-created operations.
• Fault Name and/or Code (required): The name or error code used to identify the fault.
• Fault Text: The text of the error message that is conveyed by the fault.
• Fault Description: A short passage that describes the reason or conditions that generate the fault.
