The SWIM Metadata Exchange Service (SMXS) is a discovery service that allows consumers to find and retrieve information (metadata) about SWIM services. The SMXS interacts with consumer agents as well as with other discovery services in different SWIM domains in order to find and return information about SWIM services that meet the consumers’ needs. The SMXS uses the NSRR as a data source.
